Florida 4-H Shooting Sports Archery Program
The Florida 4-H Shooting Sports Archery Program is one of the largest project areas in Florida 4-H. The 4-H Shooting Sports program teaches life skills through the sport of archery. The life skills component of 4-H Shooting Sports is what sets it apart from other youth archery programs. The Florida 4-H Shooting Sports Archery Program offers five state-run matches at the Easton Newberry Archery Center from October – March. The matches include a field match, an indoor match, a 3D match, a Traditional bow-only match, culminating in the State Match which encompasses field, 3D, and FITA. The top 4 senior compound archers and top 4 recurve archers qualify for the National 4-H Shooting Sports Championship in June.
How To Participate
To participate in Florida 4-H Shooting Sports Archery Program, youth must be active 4-H members in a county 4-H program, under the guidance of a 4-H certified archery instructor, 30 days prior to the day of the match. For information on how to register for a county 4-H archery program, contact your local county UF/IFAS Extension office. For active and approved 4-H members, registration is through 4-H Online.
