Overall Ranking
Every archer will receive points based on their ranking for each tournament shot. To be considered for the final rankings an archer MUST shoot at least one competition from each discipline: Indoor, Outdoor and Field. If an archer shoots more than three tournaments, the best rank from each discipline will be used to calculate their final ranking.
For field and indoor tournaments, the archer’s qualification rank will determine their points for the event. For example, if an archer ranks 5th in qualification they will receive 5 points towards their final ranking.
For outdoor tournaments, the archer’s tournament points will depend on qualification and elimination rounds. The weight of each factor will be 50% for qualification and 50% for eliminations. Final tournament points will be calculated as such:
(Qual. rank * .50) + (Elim. rank * .50) = Tournament Points
Match Play Rank: Any archer eliminated before the semi-finals will be ranked according to their qualification score. For example, the archer eliminated in the 1/4 round with the highest qualification will have a elimination rank of 5th.
Team Match Play Rank: Archers on a team will receive the same elimination rank as their fellow team members. If there are not enough archers to make competing teams, elimination rank will not be used for that competition points.
The overall ranking will be calculated by adding the archer’s best tournament ranking from each discipline. Therefore, the best overall points an archer can receive is 3.
Example of Calculating Points:
Indoor ranking: 3rd place = 3 points
Field 1 Ranking: 1st place = 1 point
Field 2 Ranking: 4th place = 4 points
Outdoor Qualification Ranking: 3rd Place
Outdoor Elimination Ranking: 1st Place
Outdoor Ranking: (3 * 0.5 + 1 * 0.5) = 2 points
Final Score: 3 (Best Indoor) + 1 (Best Field) + 2 (Best Outdoor) = 6 points
In the case of a tie, the archer’s ranking from their best outdoor tournament will be used as the tiebreaker.
Awards
Awards will be handed out after the last tournament in November/December. Awards will be given to the Spider Cup Champion in each division. To qualify you must have a valid score for at least one Indoor, one Outdoor, and one Field event.
